Inspired by many things (like The Festival of Quilts, this quilt-making, this quilt-book-in-progress, I bought Make Your Own Contemporary Quilts. I’ve made a couple of small quilts for various things – presents (as below) and for a couple of books (still secret) – I decided to start work on my own quilt.

I say started work. This is the quilt so far. A box of my favourite bits of fabric from my excessively large stash.

Pretty fabrics! no plan at all. Except that it will be super colourful. Most of the fabrics I have selected are pinks, with some blues and greens. I was thinking of completely basic large squares, but as I’ve picked out some teeny tiny pieces of precious things, I might have to make some patched blocks. Or maybe it will be strips. Or maybe something else entirely. Who knows? And its going to be in the To Do pile for a while yet.
