Scrapiana has published a very nice account of my early sewing experiences on her blog. It was very strange to think and write about all the people in my life who helped me start sewing, in roundabout ways. Times have changed to much since I was a dressmaking teenager. My friends thought I was really eccentric to sew my own clothes. They probably still do. I have always aspired to eccentricity anyway.
It fills me with delight to think that my work, teaching and my books, and maybe this woefully neglected blog, inspire other people to sew too. That really is amazing.
