Louise Goult

I am a textile artist narrating hidden stories and memories, protecting and honouring them through stitch. My work is conceptual and research-based. I often select preloved or found items for my work, considering who used them prior to me and why.

I use hand and free machine embroidery in my work, as well as natural dyeing and other techniques relevant to the narrative. My artwork is created for exhibitions, collaborations and commissions.

I teach workshops across the UK to groups as well as from my studio. Find out more on my website

Journey Home
Exploring the journey taken to relocate as a family and the inspiration behind our choices, which became a reality after a holiday to Staithes. The fabrics used in this piece are naturally dyed using seaweed and seawater collected during this holiday, alongside found items we collected.
