Thanks for agreeing to be part of Making Meaning Live Gathering in July. 

Here’s what you need to know:

Who

Making Meaning Live Gathering is about craft and narratives. It’s for artists and makers, teachers, curators, and collectors, anyone with an interest in craft and storytelling. I’ll be bringing together makers to talk about and share their work in a sociable online space. It’s free to attend. 

Where 

Online, via Zoom. Each session will be a Zoom meeting, not a webinar so there is more interaction with participants. There will be an admin (my VA Meghan) to set up presentations and manage participants

When

There are three separate sessions over 4 days. You can choose to present on any day. 

Wednesday 13th July 6-8.30pm BST

Friday 15th July 10am-12.30pm BST

Saturday 16th July 2-4.30pm BST

What

Each session will  have 5 activity slots, one of those will be discussion groups. So there are 4 ‘presentations’ each day. The total of each slot will be 30 mins, so aim for 25 mins of presentation / talk / activity / discussion, to allow a little time for questions, technical glitches etc. 

Please let me know what you would like to do. I would love there to be something other than presentations. Some suggestions: creative activity, discuss panel, interactive with audience thing… you could include films or audio, slide show or almost anything you fancy. Please be creative with this. 

Payment

I can pay up to £200 per session including any materials or other expenses. This is the total even if you have a panel of 3 people, the fee will be split across all of you You’ll need to upload your invoice after the event – I’ll send you details of how to do that. This is funded by Arts Council England. 

What I need now

A rough outline of what you want to do, a title and the preferred date / time. You can fill this in on the google form here. An image would be good too – your work or you or something relevant to the activity you are going to run. 

What I need later

In late June I will need your presentation images or anything else you need editing or preparing for your slot. If you want the audience to do / think about / bring or prepare for your session I will need to know this too. 

I’ll need a finished descriptions of the activity session to advertise your bit.
