I am available to run workshops for secondary schools & GCSE textiles, A-Level art or textiles and BTEC, either in my studio or at your school. Studio sessions are limited to 8 children at a time.
Fabric manipulation workshops are the most popular but I also offer fashion design, textiles and sustainability, exhibition and display (curating) skills sessions. Further workshop options can be found here.
I can also give talks on creative career choices and talks on textile history, contemporary textiles and much more. I have also run creative consultancy events with young people about local projects, working in partnership with museums.
“Ruth’s trapunto and applique workshop engaged my Y10 students interest and attention for an entire afternoon. They produced some lovely pieces that will be an asset to their GCSE coursework portfolio.” Sara B.
