Circles Coat

The coat is made from around 500 individual Suffolk puffs made by me, students, assistants, workshop attendees and visitors to my studio during April 2012. It was created as an experimental collaborative artwork where anyone’s work could be incorporated into a finished piece which would become part of my body of work. The coat is based on a 1950s original that I own and was inspired by Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat which was being performed when I ran a drop-in workshop at Leicester’s Curve Theatre.

This piece has been exhibited at Shire Hall Gallery, Staffordshire & New Brewery Arts, Cirencester. It will be shown at Pedestrian, Leicester, 6-27th August.
