Trapunto quilting & stuffed shibori workshop

I get asked about trapunto quilting and the stuffed bobbles / shibori techniques a lot, so I am running this workshop so you can have a go. I am also running tasters in these techniques at the London Knitting & Stitching Show this week and in Harrogate in November.

Surface Stuffing

This workshop covers a range of exciting techniques to create raised surface on fabric using stitch and stuffing including stuffed bobbles, padded puffs, basic trapunto and some simple quilting techniques. During this full-day, intensive workshop you will create a range of samples which can be used for fashion, quilting and creative textiles projects. You can use the techniques in your own work if you are a quilter or textile artist or create a finished framed textile art work in a day. Frames, hoops and canvases are all available in the class. We’ll use luxurious fabrics such as velvet and silk to create these detailed, gorgeous effects. The techniques are really very simple and if you can sew on a button, you will be able to do these techniques. This is also a great workshop for textile teachers to learn new techniques. I can invoice your school too if required.
