Cultures of Care is my new major project. Over the next couple of years I will be looking at under-explored stories of care of people, places, objects. I’m interested in how artist activities and creative practice contributes to a culture of care.
Cultures of Care is an umbrella or basket for several different, related activities including residencies with community organisations, research projects in museums and new work on topics such as migration, destroyed communities and other hidden stories of care and damage of people, places and objects.
On Wednesday 27th September I’ll be giving an online talk about the Cultures of Care project and about my creative work around care. Sharing my work is a really important part of my practice and I love having the chance to hear how my work resonates and inspires others.

I’ll show some of my recent work included in my garden studio exhibition Material Evidence including projects about deserted medieval villages & my grandmother’s refugee story. I’ll also share some of my previous work about care which inspired this new project, as well as lots about new things in development throughout the project, including contributory artworks that you can join in with.

The talk is at 7pm UK time on 27th September and it’s £8 per ticket. It’s on Zoom and you will be able to ask questions afterward too – I love to hear what you think and your questions and reflections are always really valuable to me. The talk will be recorded too so you can catch up afterwards or watch again. Book your place here.
