Making Meaning Live Gathering

Craft telling stories

Let’s get together to talk about craft and narratives. Making Meaning Live is an online event full of creativity, connection, conversation and the stories behind what and why we make.

It’s for artists and makers, teachers, curators, and collectors, anyone with an interest in craft and storytelling. I’ll be bringing together makers to talk about and share their work in a sociable online space.

What is it?

It’s not a standard online conference where you just sit and listen. It’s much more active. There will be different kinds of sessions including discussions, films and small groups to meet and talk to others. There will be things to do and take part in or you can just listen if you prefer. You can meet like-minded people and be part of fascinating conversations to spark your creativity and learn new things.

When is it happening?

We’re running the Live Gathering over 3 sessions at different times of day to make it as accessible as possible to people with commitments and in different time zones. You can come to all or just one or two of the sessions.

Session 1
Wednesday 13th July 6-8.30pm BST

Session 2
Friday 15th July 10am-12.30pm BST

Session 3
Saturday 16th July 2-4.30pm BST

How much is it?

Making Meaning Live Gathering is free. You can donate towards the costs of this event. Funded by Arts Council England.

Taking part

Would you like to be part of this event? I am looking for presentations, films, discussions, workshops, development or training sessions around the themes of craft and narrative. You don’t need to have a slick powerpoint presentation or to speak live on Zoom if you don’t want to. There are lots of other ways of getting involved. If you would like to propose a session please use this form below for an initial, informal discussion. Selected artists presenting at the event will be paid.
