New exhibitions

Two pieces of my collaboration with Alys Power are now on display at Unit Twelve Contemporary Craft Open (the show that I won a prize at last year!). They’ve been beautifully displayed as usual, and the rest of the show looks stunning. I’m looking forward to getting over to see it. The show continues until 1st March 2014.

The whole collection made by Alys & I will be displayed next year in a gallery in Dorset, which is very exciting. More on this soon.

I’ve also got pieces from my collaboration with Jan Garside on display at Pedestrian, a small gallery in Leicester just up the road from my studio. There are also a few of my paper Christmas decorations available there too. The show is open until 23rd December.

Christmas Shopping at Makers’ Yard

Make it a handmade Christmas and come shopping at my studio building, Makers’ Yard, where you can buy from the other tenants in the studio building as well as me. I’ll have a lot of samples for sale (cushions, bags, scarves, brooches etc), as well as discounts on books, fabrics, sewing tools and gift vouchers for sewing enthusiasts.

Please come along to the exclusive evening event with mince pies and mulled wine on Friday 15th 6-9pm or any time on Saturday 16th November 10-4pm when there will be additional artists and makers selling their work too.

New work in progress

If you are sharp-eyed on Pinterest, you will have noticed some new work popping up on this board. I’m working in collaboration with jeweller Alys Power  to create a new collection of work for an exhibition opening in March at NCCD.

We’ve been working on collaborative pieces to create a Cabinet of Curiosities inspired by Calke Abbey. We’re making small objects out of textile, metal and found objects, some of which will be wearable jewellery and some just simply objects. Follow the  board to keep an eye on what we are doing and I’ll put full details of the exhibition on later. Read Alys’ post here.
