Angie Lewin exhibition

I was in Edinburgh for work last week but had a day out around the city (which I have known for years) to explore some of my favourite galleries and to find some new ones.

Near the top of my list was The Scottish Gallery who had a show of Angie Lewin’s prints and original watercolours paired with Lizzie Farey’s willow work called Revealed: A Familiar Landscape.

It was an absolute delight to see Angie’s work in the flesh, for the first time. The prints are amazing, there is no doubt, but the original watercolours are extraordinary. I also had a good look at her book & have definitely put it on my Christmas list now!The exhibition has now closed but you can download the catalogue as a pdf for free. I knew Lizzie’s work from Origin, years ago – and again was really happy to see her new work. I particularly loved the circular wall pieces (what with having an obsession with circles myself..).

You can see more of Angie’s work on the marvellous St Jude’s website and Lizzie’s on her own website.
