Reading & Writing: Making Meaning Podcast Episode 62

A few weeks ago someone told me that she didn’t know I had written several books, so I realised I don’t talk enough about my writing! The podcast is about the writing of those books; three with traditional publishers and three self-published books about my work. The third self-published book is coming very soon, it is with the designer now and I hope to have it in my hands before the end of the summer. I’ve also written other exhibition catalogues and project publications and all kinds of things.

Self-published catalogues and project books

I am working on a new shop for these publications but for the time being you can find them here.

My three sewing books

Sew Eco and Sew it Up are now out of print but Fabric Manipulation from 2013 is still going strong and selling well. You can buy a copy here.

Textiles in Lockdown

I also wrote and designed Textiles in Lockdown for Gawthorpe Textiles Collection in 2020. This is out of print now but the PDF is available here.

Reflective Writing for Creative Practice

I have two courses exploring how to write to reflect on your creative practice. They are both 12 weeks of prompts, with advice and information to get started. Each course is £36 or you can buy both for £50

Textile Book Group

I love reading books about textiles and I love talking to people about books about textiles, so I have created a book group to do just that.

We meet bi-monthly on a Monday evening for about an hour at 6pm and it’s £5 or free for Maker Membership
