Over the weekend of 14th & 15th August, I am celebrating my new book Tangled; Textile Stories of Care & Connection with an online launch on Friday 14th August at 6.30pm and an in-person exhibition and book launch party on Saturday 15th August in my favourite outdoor space, Mill Field Forest Garden, Thurmaston, Leicestershire.
Both events are free (but I encourage you to support me by buying the book of course!)

How to find Mill Field Forest Garden

By BUS From Leicester you can get the No 5 from Haymarket, to Forest Avenue, Thurmaston, then walk back to Mill Lane and down the lane.
By TRAIN from Syston station. It’s about 30 mins walk or the number 5 bus.
Drive or walk down Mill Lane – you’ll reach a car park, with Mill Lane behind you, go to the far left corner of the car park.
Before you get close up to the boatyard gate look to the left and you’ll see the gates in the first picture below. Do not cross the water. Stay on the bank side and find the gates on the left of the car park.
Go through the “kissing gate” for pedestrians only, then turn left again along the grassy path. It’s very close to the car park. Follow the path through the site past the polytunnel to find the shelter and event.
If you need access through the wider gate, please let me know in advance so I can get the key. Please ask for further access information about the site. It is a working garden so it is not fully accessible.
There is a clean, comfortable compost toilet on site.
